World Tier 4: A Tough Challenge for Novices

No need to fret about facing the unanticipated surge in difficulty – World Tier 4 can be quite punishing for newcomers.

Here are some tips to help you navigate the challenges:

  • Defensive Affixes and Aspects: Prioritize defensive enhancements for your body and pants. Look for attributes like Max Health, Damage Reduction (including its variations), and Total Armour. Seek out defensive aspects that suit your class; Disobedience is a reliable starting point.
  • Movement Speed: Don’t underestimate the value of movement speed as a defensive stat. It allows you to evade traps, bombs, area-of-effect attacks, and enemies, providing you with breathing room.
  • Defensive Skills and Stats: Each class boasts at least one skill designed to extricate you from perilous situations. Familiarize yourself with these skills, as they’re fundamental tools in your repertoire. (Except for Necromancers; Blood Mist might not be your savior, letting your minions absorb damage might be more effective.)
  • Paragon Board: Take a close look at your paragon board. It’s beneficial to study meta builds and understand their rationale. While many meta builds emphasize damage, don’t overlook the importance of defensive choices. Nodes offering 50/100 armour, damage reduction, and glyphs can prove invaluable.
  • Keep Moving: Unless your build is exceptionally specialized, mobility is key. Constant movement prevents ranged attacks from zeroing in on you.
  • Prioritize Burst Damage: Much of the combat revolves around eliminating foes swiftly. Burst damage is essential to wipe out a significant portion of an enemy group and then deal with the survivors. Expect survival to be short-lived if you can’t execute this tactic.
  • Target Selection: Determine which enemies to eliminate first. Obvious as it may seem, focus on enemies with bright purple auras, as they shield others from damage. Additionally, take out Shamans promptly, as they can amplify their allies’ abilities and pose a growing threat.
  • Weapon Upgrades: Your weapon is your most critical upgrade. As soon as your damage output improves, consider trying your hand at Helltides. Aim for the 75 cinder chests until your survivability reaches a decent level.

Despite its reputation as a challenging zone for melee classes, my preferred spot for farming during the transition from Sacred to Ancestral gear is Mercy’s Reach. The map brims with elite enemies, and where there are elites, there are drops, I can get more Diablo 4 gold and items quickly here, love this zone. Pay special attention to the two cube rooms – they’ll test your burst-damage capabilities. If you can dispatch enough foes to survive the next 2-3 seconds, your build is likely in good shape. Remember, you’ll initially be at a disadvantage since dungeon enemies start at a minimum level of 75. The struggle will persist until you accumulate a few Ancestral pieces.
